Chevrolet Repair: Power/lights on, wont turnover corsica 91, starter solenoid, purple wire

Question
Hey, First off, thanks for reading this and I appreciate any help that you give :)

First off, its a '91 corsica. Problem is my gf drove it about 10-15 miles to downtown (we live in burbs) to go dancing. After she was done, she tried to start it but nothing happened. Lights came on, but it made no starting noises ie. no cranking noises.

So i figured it was the starter.
Took it off, bought a brand new one, installed it, and still no cranking over.

My dad said it might be a "fusible link", but i can't find one. I've looked in the chilton book and it wasn't any help.

Is there a "fusible link" on the starter wires?
BTW the original started was tested at a local auto store and he said the everything (starter, solenoid) failed the electrical test. Thats what i figured the problem to be but i guess its more than that =/

Thanks!
Tim

Answer
You need to make sure that you have the purple wire at the starter attached to the s terminal on the solenoid. If you mistakenly put it on the r terminal it will not start.  Also take a test light and have a helper crank the car while you check the purple wire for power.  If it has power you have a bad brand new starter.
