Chevrolet Repair: 1996 Chevy Astro Van, chevy astro van, chevy astro

Question
Last week my van died while I was driving down the road.  I replaced the alternator and everything seemed to be fine but when I did that I had noticed my battery was also replaced with a much smaller one. (900amps down to 400amps).  I didn't think anything of it until I got in my van today to leave and the van did nothing but rapid clicking.  Could this be the battery is too small???  Thank you very much for your time!!!!!

Answer
The battery could be to small but if it is 400 amps it should do the trick. Check your battery cables and make sure they are tight and clean.  Also when you get the van running put a voltmeter on the battery terminals and check the voltage.  It should be about 13-13.8 running if to low will cause battery discharge.
