where do i run my hot wire from my batt to my starter with out it being burned up by ny exhaust

I don't know the type of car.  I know the problem though.  You should have some lines that you can mingle it up with.  Possibly, use zip ties to attach the wire to the brake lines until you are well clear of the exhaust.  You can also put a plastic cover over the wire.  These are all available in the electrical isle at the local parts store.  The cover is split and corregated.
