Chevrolet Repair: m1009 starter relay under dash, starter solenoid, volt power

Question
where can i find that relay under the dash no parts stores even list it any help would be appreciated

Answer
Hello jeremy,
Just about under the ash tray, or slightly to the drivers side of it, there is a little metal bracket bolted to the underside of the dash.
That relay is on that bracket.

It is a 12 volt relay, that controls 24 volts.
A relay like the one that operates the blower motor in a civilian Chevy truck would probably work just fine.
Go to this site,
http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/hweb2.pdf
and scroll down to the 4 and 5 pin relays near the bottom of page 9.

Terminals 85 and 86 connect to the 12 volt power from the ignition switch start wire, and the black ground wire.
Connect the 24 volt supply to terminal 30,
And the wire to the starter solenoid to terminal 87.
