Chevrolet Repair: Changing the timing chain in a 5.2 litre Chev Diesel, timing chain, milage

Hi Steve,great site you have.
I'm buying a van with a 500 000k high milage and thats ok,I don't need more then 100 000k out of it.
So I was wondering if changing the timing chain in a 5.2 litre chev diesel is a big job?

This is not my site I just volunteer my time to help others, as for your question, if you are familiar with these types of repairs and or have a mechanical backround it should not be that difficult to do, it is a bit time consuming but fairly straight forward, as to how to do it, would take way to long to explain here, if you are not sure or have never done a job like this, leave it to a qualified mechanic because if installed improperly severe engine damage will occur
