Chevrolet Repair: Chevrolet Tahoe front end noise, wah wah wah, customer arbitration

Question
On 12-30-05 I purchased a new 2006 Tahoe. (34 miles)  At about 300 miles I noticed a "wah, wah, wah" noise coming from the left front at 40 - 50 mph.  I thought it sounded like a tire belt problem. Dealer test drove and heard it, said it could be "memory" in the tire from tiedown in transport, said to keep driving.  At 1000 miles I took it back and dealer rotated tires.  Noise still there.  At 1300 miles, I used the 4wheel drive and a grinding sound developed when slowing to a stop.  Dealer replaced bent drive shaft to rear wheels.  Grinding gone, but wah wah noise still there.  Also, there is a rattling or growling noise in 4th gear at 1100 rpms, only lasts a few seconds and only when engine fully warmed up (I noticed this at same time as wah, wah and also seems to be comming from the front of the vehicle.)  Dealer said this noise was charateristic of vehicle. Am I crazy or are these annoying noises something the dealer knows he cannot fix?   Thanks.

Answer
Hello Terence,
Sounds like he is feeding you just enough to get you out the door.

Insist that he let you drive a different one from the lot, and show you these "characteristic" noises.

Bent driveshaft?? Noise in the front wheel area? Sounds like someone boomed it down WAY to tight, and the tire memory is BS.

A 2006 vehicle should drive and sound like a brand new high dollar vehicle, not an abused off-road truck.
Insist they make it right, or contact customer arbitration....before it is too late. Get the paperwork trail started.
