Chevrolet Repair: head gasket, blown head gasket, power steering fluid

Question
My daughter has a 91 berreta, with a blown head gasket, and a friend is changing it, yet he has come into a problem getting the final bolt off near the belts that hold the power steering fluid unit. Do you have any suggestions as to how to get the heads off without taking the whole car apart? Also when the car is driveable sometimes when you accelerate, the car stalls? what could this be?, I do appreciate a quick answer as the guy will be here this afternoon...

Answer
In order to get the bolt out you will have to remove the power steering pump pulley using a SPECIAL removal installer tool OR you WILL bend the pulley if you try to use anything but the EXACT special tool.

What causes the car to stall will have to wait until the head gasket is replaced.

If this vehicle is a V-6 engine I hope to GOD that he is replacing BOTH head gaskets or you are going to have more problems down the road.

Since I do NOT know this persons expertise in working on this type of vehicle, I would be very concerned about his ability.

I am NOT saying that he is NOT a good mechanic, But anyone who comes to your home to do this kind of major work, worries me.

However it's you vehicle and your consequences.
