Chevrolet Repair: 1993 Cavalier 2.2L, crankshaft sensor, salvage yard

Question
After car runs 5-10 minutes, I lose fire on cylinder numbers 1 and 4. We put on a new coil pack for 1 and 4, but problem still occurs. We picked up a matching ECM from a salvage yard, but the problem still occurred, after running 5 minutes or so.

Answer
NEVER EVER put junk yard electronic parts on your vehicle. You have NO way of knowing if the component is good or NOT.

Without doing ANY testing to find the fault replacing parts is only GUESSING.

It could be a faulty ECM, But possibly the junk yard one has the same fault in it's computer.

I think your problem is more likely to be the:

ignition module or the crankshaft sensor and NOT the ECM.
