Chevrolet Repair: 1995 Chevy Cavilar Air Conditiong, chevy cavilar, chevrolet cavalier

Question
I have a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier with a 2.2l engine. The Air conditioner has quit working. It seems like there is no power getting to the compressor. The is no fuse in the dash board area. But under the hood there is a plug in relay- Would that be the item to replace instead of a fuse. Also can you tell me how to check the electrial portion to be sure what the problem is. I have a chilton book, but it doesnt have the wiring diagram for the air conditioner in it so I cant tell if there is another fuse or not. Can you tell me where to get a wiring diagram tha includes the air conditioner.
Thanks Jerry

Answer
I do not have an electrical schematic for your particular vehicle, But what your problem most likely is, Is that you have a leak in the A/C system and you have lost some or all of the freon of which will not allow your compressor to engage.

Buy youself an A/C pressure gage and see what pressures you have in the A/C system FIRST. When you install the gage and if it shows less than 100 lbs of pressure, You have a leak in the A/C system.
