Chevrolet Repair: 1994 s-10 blazer cruise control, fuse panel, vacuum lines

Question
1994 s-10 blazer. I can't seem to find the fuse for the cruise control. It just quit working.

Answer
The cruise control fuse is usually combined with other components and does not usually have a seperate fuse JUST FOR the cruise control. If EVERYTHING else works on the vehicle EXCEPT the cruise it is highly unlikely that the fuse is the problem.

However some vehicles DO have a seperate fuse for the cruise control and it is labled "C/C" at the fuse panel.

There are numerous possible components that can cause the cruise not to work.

1. Cruise control brake switch.

2. Cruise control engagement switch.

3. cruise control SERVO in the engine compartment.

4. Loose or broken vacuum lines and electrical connections.

5. If the CHECK ENGINE light is ON this will cause the cruise to NOT work.

6. A speed sensor problem.

ALL the above need to be TESTED in order to determine WHICH item is at fault.

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed..
