how to remove a ignition switch from streering colum with key broke partly off on inside of switch.in a 1990 chevy cavalier

You are going to need SPECIAL tools in order to remove the steering wheel and the internal components in order to access the ignition switch.

Your FIRST problem is de-activating the AIR BAG sytem if you have an air bag on the steering wheel as disconnecting the battery will NOT disable the air bag system.
