Chevrolet Repair: Starting Problem, battery down, asto

I have a 1992 Chevy Asto Van. While travelling home yesterday, my truck die on the road or stop running. While I try to turn her over, she just wounld not start. I notice the Battery/Volt gauge when I try to turn her over will go down to the yellow area on the guage. Does this mean that the Battery is not producing? Do I need a new Battery?
What about a Alternator? Please ASAP!

Hi Jonathan, Sounds to me like your alternator stopped charging and you wore the battery down. The engine will stop running when the voltage gets too low. If you charge the battery and start the engine the volt guage should go up, if not replace the alternator.
