Chevrolet Repair: TBI Intake problem, vacuum leaks, 1989 camaro rs

Question
I'm a owner of a 1989 camaro RS that has a 305 TBI engine. I bought a TBI spacer and a injector spacer, after installing it idols at 2000 Rpms. All vacum lines and sensors are pluged in, I've been told to get new seals (new ones were not included and the old ones are old and crusty).
Please give any advise you may have!
Tahnks, Jake

Answer
Hi Jake, The first thing to do is check to make sure that you don't have any vacuum leaks. Use a can of carb cleaner  to do this, spray around the gaskets and see if the idle changes. If it does then you have a leak and need new gaskets. If not, then I would take the car for a ride to see if the idle control motor just needs to relearn itself.

Let me know how you make out
