Chevrolet Repair: 1996 Lumina performance, plug wires, airfilter

Question
I have a 1996 Lumina with almost 90k miles. The performance has decreased dramtically over the last few months. I've changed the plugs and replace a dirty airfilter. It helped some but the performance from a stand still is still terrible. I'm going after plug wires next. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Ed, The first thing you need to do is replace the fuel filter. I have seen these plug up and cause low power and sometimes make the transmission shift so bad that people think there is a trans problem. If the plug wires were bad the engine would run very rough. Do the filter and let me know how it runs.
