Chevrolet Repair: HC content on emissions test, s10 pickup, unburned fuel

Question
I recently bought a 1990 S10 pickup and it has a 4.3L fuel injected engine with 117,000 miles on it. The truck runs good no smoke no noises or any thing anyway I'm trying to get it to pass smog and it passes everything except the HC content is 430 and the max can be no higher than 330 (ppm). Any ideas where to look to lower the content?

Answer
Hi,
Sorry this is so late...I was out of town taking care of some parent plans.
HC is unburned fuel, or partially burned fuel, so you could run some injector cleaner through it for a couple tanks, then use a higher grade of fuel, especially for the test.
Make sure the plugs and wires are in good shape.
Put some STP in the oil.
Good luck,
