Chrysler Repair: Code 1775, solenoid pack, transmission control unit

these are the codes that show up on the the mechine bout ma car p1775,p0700, and p0700 do this mean that i need to buy a transmission even though i dont feel any sign of slipping gears i need your advice i have put a lot of money in this car it only have 106000 on it dont wonna get ridd of it yet

Hi David,
The 0700 codes just point to the presence of other specific code(s) like the 1775. That 1775 that the solenoid switch valve is latched in the torque converter lock up position. You might have noticed the engine stalling when slowing down to very low speed from a high speed situation. In any case it could mean that the valve is stuck, the idle speed is too high, the low-reverse pressure switch will not close, or the electrical circuit that senses the position of that switch is shorted to 12v, of the transmission control unit is defective. An independent trans shop can do the diagnosis as to which of these apply. In any case it doesn't require a rebuild. At worst the pressure switch/solenoid pack would need to be replaced. Its location may either be external (on the front side of the transmission) or internal (but can be accessed by dropping an oil pan). Because you didn't mention the year/model of the vehicle I can't say which it is.
