Chrysler Repair: car misses at Idle only but no codes, chrysler cirrus, wd 40

Question
Hi,I have a 99 Chrysler cirrus V6 and My car misses at idle and does not throw any codes,Ive changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and rotor...would a faulty distributor cause misses at idle?....Any suggestions would be appreciated...Thank you

Answer
Hi Mike,
I doubt that a problem with the distributor exists if there are no codes and you have changed the parts you described. I would take a look at the egr valve located nearby to see that the valve stem is moving freely back and forth against spring action in one direction. It has a slot in the stem that you move the stem with by means of the tip of a screwdriver. If it sticks try spraying some WD-40 on the stem where it enters the valve body. Were it to not close tightly via the spring that would lean out the mixture and cause a poor idle.
