Chrysler Repair: 2000 Sebring jx with a 2.5l will not start, crank sensor, orange wire

Question
QUESTION: hi the car just died. changed out the crank sensor and the distributor and it still wont start. so i checked to see if
there was power get to the distributor on the green with the
orange stripe and there is none so what do i do to get power
to it?

ANSWER: Hi Harry,
The power to the spark coil on the green/orange wire only happens if the autoshutdown relay is closed and the relay only closes if there are good signals from the cam (distributor) sensor and the crank sensor at the moment you are cranking. So it could be the crank sensor or it could be a fuse, too.
Have you tried to get fault codes with the ignition switch:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time? Then watch the odometer window to see if the mileage changes to show 4-digit code numbers. The cam fault is 0340 amd cam is 0320.
Let me know what shows up and we'll go on from there.

QUESTION: ok i went and checked there is no codes. should there be power
going to the distributor? i've test all wires and there is
none.

ANSWER: Hi Harry,
There should be 8V on the orange wire on pin 2 of the 6-pin plug, when the ignition switch is in the run or start position.
When you are cranking there should be 12v on green orange wire as I descibed earlier. The other wires are grounds (1,5), the senor signal which should pulse between 5 and 0.3V when you are cranking it (pin 3, tan/yellow), and the ignition coil driver wire (pin 6, black/gray) which pulses between 0 and 12v when you are cranking it if there are the cam and crank signals. If you don't have 8V on pin 2 then check fuses 5 and 10 in the power distribution box under the hood.

QUESTION: ok i went out and checked the fuses are all good. so what
could it be? it is getting gas i can smell it so i know the
cam is working. like i said the crack sensor and distributor
are new. i even checked the relays too they seem to be good.
i'm at a lose please help.-

Answer
Hi Harry,
How about 8v on pin 2?
The fuel pump always will run for a second or so which pressurizes the system and so you will smell gas even if the sensors are not working.
I would test the sensors for pulsing: measure between pins 33 and 43 for the cam sensor signal, and between pins 32 and 43 for crank sensor signal (those are at the plugs on the pcm). Use fine pins to probe the wires and attach your leads to the pins. Turn the ignition to the run position, then turn the crank pulley bolt by hand using a socket and ratchet. There should be pulsing between 5v and 0.3v. You have to turn it by hand because the pulsing is too rapid to measure while you are cranking it.
Did you check the rotor or did you get a new one when you replace the distributor?
