Chrysler Repair: 02 T&C: fuse 16 blows, heater coils, oxygen sensors

Question
My asd fuse blows when I turn to on position. If I pull the fuel pump fuse it doesn't blow. Does that indicate its in the fuel pump circuit

Answer
Hi Dwain,
No, the fuel pump fuse is #17. I see no reason why pulling fuse 17 would protect ASD fuse #16. They both have the same source but feed entirely different modules.
The #16 fuse powers the ASD which then powers:
the pcm
the fuel injectors
the field coil of the generator
the ignition coil pack
the up- and down-stream oxygen sensors' heater coils
The most fragile wiring is that of the sensors between the tip and the plug of each, so those would be good to inspect. Otherwise, disconnect each and see which one reads a short to ground. The wire color in all cases is brown/white. At the pcm it is on pin 6.
I suppose there cold be short circuit in the power box if those two fuses are together, side-by-side, but I am not clear about why that would be. You could look at the cold side of fuse 16 and see if it reads a dead short to ground when 17 is still in place, but not when 17 is removed. But I don't see how it could be.
