Chrysler Repair: 1998 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L V6, damper pulley, crankshaft pulley

Question
My water pump has gone bad so i decided to replace it as well as the timing belt because i don't know when it was last replaced. once i got to removing the crankshaft pulley i couldn't proceed because i couldn't get the bolt loose since i couldn't find a way to keep the pulley from rotating while trying to loosen the bolt. the pulley has 2 holes that don't go all the way thru the pulley so i can't stick a screwdriver or something thru it. do i need a special tool to help with getting it off?

Answer
Hi David,
The manual showw at least one hole in the damper/pulley through which you insert a large screwdriver or bar that is then wedged against the engine block lower edge. If you don't have any such holes you may have to put a chain-type wrench around the circumference of the pulley to grasp and hold it. Those are my suggestions.
