Chrysler Repair: 01Town and Country wiring harness?, powertrain control module, salvage yard

Question
I replaced the computer module, ran good for 2 days, now it's back to the same thing. It is also now throwing out several codes. Computer module people said I must have a short in the harness. Should I look for a harness from a salvage yard, or try to find the specific wire that may be messed up? Would it be the wiring harness going into the computer, or coming out of it?

Answer
Hi Andy,
The PCM (powertrain control module) I assume is what you are speaking about having replaced, correct? If so, my advice would be to pay attention to the specific codes that it now shows and check out both the components of the circuit thay point to AND the circuit wiring. I would not throw any more money at the problem on the assumption that you need to replace the harness. Are the codes new or are the same ones that you got before replacing the 'module'? What are current numbers? It may having nothing to do with the computer or the wires, so think 'globally' and don't focus on a quick fix.
