Chrysler Repair: 96 Concorde: code 43, coil pack, primary coil

Question
chrysler trouble code 43: Car starts, however after warming up it will stall and not restart for a while. did the key flip 3 times thing and got the code 43 Something about the primary coil circuit. how would i go about trouble shooting that.

Answer
Hi Kevin,
The resistance of each of the 3 primary windings is supposed to 0.45-0.65 ohms. So remove the coil's plug and measure between the common pin (check the plug itself, when you first turn the ignition to 'run', when you will see 12V on that contact for about 1 second and that is the common for all three windings) of the coil pack socket and the other three pins in the socket. Do that when it is cold, and again when it has failed to see if it is different which would be an indication that one or more of coil pack primary windings has failed. The three wires from the plug for those windings go to pins 17,18 and 19 of the pcm so you could check those for continuity and shake the harness while you do that. That is my suggestion on a code 43.
Do also take a careful look at the light pulsing to make sure that you aren't combining two codes that sum to 7 flashes, such as 11 and 23 or 11 and 32, etc.
