Chrysler Repair: 41TE/AE Transmission Convert 2 plug to 4 plug?, solenoid pack, sebring coupe

Question
95 Chrysler Cirrus originally with 41TE/AE 4 plug style, has 2 connectors for the P/N (3 pins), Range(3 pins).  Have a 41TE/AE from a 96 Sebring with the Combined PN/Range (9 pins).  I have both wiring diagrams and seem to be stuck at how to wire it properly.  I can match everything but the RANGE.  Reverse light selector (OK), Park/Neutral (OK), omit the Trans Temp Sensor (OK), but how to finish the RN3 PL (on 95) to PRNL NDL P3L (on 96)??  I don't see how I can retrofit the 2 input switch (95) to work with the 3 (96). Is it even possible??  I have both spider harnesses from the solenoid pack on the front of the transaxle.  Let me know if you any additional information.

Answer
Hi John,
I don't see how the wiring between the '95 tcm and the the '96 transmission can be accomplished. The '95 trans clearly has only 3 grounding switches while the '96 has 4 grounding switches associated with the transmission range selection. I would wonder if replacing the '95 tcm with a '96 tcm might be the way to go, except there may be other differences in the all the other pin assignments of the 60-way tcm plug that go elsewhere than between the tcm and the on-trans switches. I would be surprised, even if you could figure a work-around to not change tcm's to make up for the missing switch, whether the 'logic' would work out. I suspect these were totally re-designed systems, not up-grades of the same basic design. I am working with a '96 Cirrus (Chrysler US manual) and a '95 Sebring Coupe manual (Mitsubishi authored I believe) which appears to be what you are describing for your '95 Cirrus trans and tcm (which specific manual I don't have). Any chance you can return the '96 and find a '95 transmission?
