Chrysler Repair: NO BUS on Pt Cruiser w/new stereo, aftermarket stereo, comminication

Question
I just installed an aftermarket stereo on my 2002 PT Cruiser. The stereo seems to work alright but now there is a "No BUS" showing up on the odometer and the airbag & brakes lights are on and the odometer isn't doing anything. Could it be possible I wired something incorrectly? Or does this mean something is loose? I did notice the radio isn't picking up stations very well.

Answer
The race for "expert of the month" is going down to the wire.
Chrysler "repairer" vs Microsoft "coder".

Hi Matt,
The Bus is a digital data comminication circuit that connects many electronic parts together. There is a part of that circuit on a natural color 2-pin/one wire (violet/yellow) plug at the rear of the original radio. What was done with that plug/wire when you installed the new unit? Was there any mention of it in the instructions for the new unit?
