Chrysler Repair: 98 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE LEAKS, light flickers, drain holes

Question
I READ YOUR ANSWER TO A SIMILAR /COMMON DRAIN HOLE PLUGGED PROBLEM. YOU OFFERED TO SEND INFORMATION OF FINDING LEAKS. ANY DIAGRAMS OF DRAIN FLAP WOULD ALSO HELP. MY 1998 ONLY HAXS 65000 MILES AND IS VERY NICE. ALSO WHERE IS THE OIL SENDING UNIT UNDER THE HOOD. THE LIGHT FLICKERS AT IDLE.qug

Answer
Hi Joe,
Unfortunately the FSM doesn't actually describe where the drain holes are located so the only way I have learned about them is via communications from owners. The search function "find" is the best way to review those inputs. Sorry to say I haven't personally looked for the drain holes on the '96-'00 Sebring convertible.
On the oil sending unit, it is located directly above the oil filter on the side of the 2.5L engine next to the firewall. I suspect though that while the pressure is still within spec (5 psi at idle) it is not high enough to 'open' the sender unit. It may be the sender or it may be that the wear on internal engine parts has resulted in a gradual decline of pressure. In my experience if you simply increase the weight of the oil by one step at the next oil change the pressure at idle will be lifted sufficiently to turn off the warning light. I would be inclined to do that first before changing the sender, unless you already tried that approach.
