Chrysler Repair: p1495 ldp code, chrysler voyager, design protocol

Question
Wifes van 03 chrysler voyager approx 50k cel on w/a small/large evap leak detected.checked gas cap and usual suspects pulled ldp and found solonoid not closing all the way, bought new pump at dodge dealer now code P1495 will not clear.checked for power and ground all good on two wires (both on the outside of connector
)do not know what the center wire is supposed to have. This code was not originally present when i first looked at van and i did not check codes before installing pump. There are no bent over pins at the connection and wiring appears in good condition.Any insight would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Chris,
The middle pin of the pump connector is the 'solenod control' wire and it connects to pin 77 of the pcm. Pin 1 is the 'switch sense' connected to pin 72, and pin 3 is the power supply wire. This comes from an '02 manual so I can't be sure it applies to your '03. The system function is complex so too long to describe. It was changed in '02 according to the manual. That center wire no doubt has 12v applied to it at various times by the pcm according to its design protocol. The possible causes of a 1495 are the pump, the solenoid, the wires that interconnect it to the pcm and power from the ignition switch, and the pcm itself.
