Chrysler Repair: 98 Concorde LXI : instrument cluster removal, concorde lxi, gear indicator

Question
How do you remove instrument cluster to service dash lights?

Answer
Hi David,
This is the procedure for the Concorde:
Disconnect the negative battery clamp is a good idea.
Remove the left end cap from the dash (open the door for access)
Tilt the steering wheel down to its lowest level
Using a wooden thin stick, pry off the bezel and remove
Disconnect the cluster screws and disengage the upper latch
Remove the cluster, then remove the plugs of the wire connectors (note hooks to pull some of the plugs as the force is needed).

This is the procedure for the '98 minivan:
It you have a transmission gear indicator that is electronic, all you do:
Remove the steering column top cover, screws on the underside.
Remove the entire steering column bezel (one screw on left lower edge, check for others along that edge.
Remove left cap on end of dash (open door for access)
Remove screw at left end of cluster bezel and head lamp switch
Remove screws holding cluster bezel to instrument panel from each side of steering column
Disconnect clup holding cluster bezel to instrument panel from above right vent louver
Separate cluster bezel from instrument panel
Disconnect wire connectors from rear of bezel
Remove screws holding instrument cluster to instrument panel
Rotate top of cluster outward
Remove instrument cluster from instrument panel
Disconnec wire connector from back of cluster
Remove cluster

Let me know if the gear indicator is mechanical and I'll give you the extra steps.
