Chrysler Repair: 1996 LHS Cooling fans, external fuse, coolant temp

Question
The radiator fans will not run on my 1996 LHS 3.5 L. I have checked the interior fuse, external fuse and relays under the hood. I swapped the relays with like relays and they all work. The thermostat is new ( I changed that when the car first overheated, boiling out of the overflow tank) and the engine coolant sensor is new. The fans worked for a day after I replaced the coolant sensor so I know the fans will run. What am I missing. Thanks, Joe

Answer
Hi Joe,
It could be you have some air trapped near the coolant temp sensor so that it isn't properly reading the temp of the coolant.  Notice that the thermostat housing has a bleed valve and a nipple from which you can drain fluid. Put a 4' length of clear plastic hose on the nipple and direct the hose over the front of the car to a clean container to catch the coolant. Then open the bleed valve. Then slowly fill the coolant recovery bottle until fluid starts to flow out of the clear hose. Then gently squeeze on the top radiator hose until all the air is exhausted from the system. Close the bleed valve and fill the system the rest of the way until it reaches the to of the overflow on the bottle. Remove the hose from the bleeder valve nipple.
The other possibility is that the ground wire at the left front frame rail near the headlamp is loose/corroded.
Are you sure the temp is at least 209F, as that is the minimum for the low speed to turn on? And are checking fuse D and fuse 18, correct?
