The abs and trac off lights came on.What might cause these lights to come on and is there a way to reset so the lights shut off.

Hi Scott,
Other than the possibility of a blown fuse, the only way to find out what is wrong is to do a diagnostic readout of the controller using a readout box that plugs into the socket under the dash near the steering column. The fuses you might check are H (30 amp) and K (40 amp) in the power distribution box in the engine compartment and fuses 17 (10 amp) and 20 (20 amp) in the box behind the dash.
If those check out, then the readout is the way to figure out what should be done next. The braking system is still safe so long as the remaining red brake light on the dash remains dark.
