Chrysler Repair: EGR Valve, chrysler town and country, valve question

Question
QUESTION: My EGR valve on my Chrysler Town and Country is malfunctioning.  I bought a new one and even though it is there and accesible the bottom screw is blocked by the alternator.  Do I have to remove the alternator or is there a special tool that I can buy.

ANSWER: Hi Josue,
I suspect you will need to remove the alternator, but tell me which engine you have and I will look into it and get back to you with the answer and if so how to remove the alternator. I will be unavailable for a couple of hours but get back later in the afternoon with the specifics of your engine.

QUESTION: I have the T&C V6 3.8L engine.

Answer
Hi Josue.
I'm not connecting the alternator to the egr in that engine because the valve is near the rear of the engine and the alternator is at the front of the engine. Are we mis-communicating or is your 3.8L a newer model which I may not have a manual for?
