Chrysler Repair: Starting problems 1990 Lebaron conv., head gasket, vacuum hose

Question
I had my 1990 LeBaron (2.5, auto, air) overheat and needed to replace the head gasket. A small hole in the gasket was found.  After finishing the work the car will not turn over.  It wants to, but doesn't.  I am getting a spark, and the engine is getting fuel.  I thought it may be a problem with a vacuum hose but can't find a bad connection or break.  Can you give me an idea of what I should look at?

Answer
Hi John,
There are so many possibilities that I would begin with a fault code readout. "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on' to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to assure an accurate set of counts. Tell me the counts in order of appearance. Then write back with the results and we'll go from there.
