Chrysler Repair: headlight out message, chrysler new yorker, erroneous interpretation

Question
I have a 1988 Chrysler New Yorker.  The car's message center is displaying "headlight out", but all the headlights are working.  Is there a "fix" for this?

Answer
Hi again Mark,
It appears that the current to the headlamps passes through the lamp outage module on the way to the headlamps. I would suspect that the lamp outage module may be faulty in that it doesn't recognize the current that is flowing through it. It is not clear as to what sort of signal it sends to the message center to actuate that warning, so it may also be a problem with an erroneous communication or an erroneous interpretation of the message be the message center. If I locate a manual that identifies a test procedure for sorting this out I will let you know what you might try.
