Hi I have a 96 Chrysler Sebring LX Coupe 2.5L.  What do i do to keep the harmonic balancer from moving I tried several things using strong pieces of metal but they just break.

Hi Josh,
The Haynes manual shows inserted a case hardened punch or similar thick and long scredriver into the slot of the pulley and wedging it against the engine block. I suspect that some sort of rugged tool shaped as a rod and about as thick as the slot opening will be needed. There is a Miller Tool Co. tool MB998574 and handle MB990767 that fits into the slot and allows you to get a grip on pulley rather than to wedge it. I don't know the cost or maybe you could rent it. That would avoid damage to the pulley as well.
