Chrysler Repair: 97 Intrepid Rear Defrost Problem, panel switch, multimeter

I've read the other posts about this problem but my rear defrost still doesn't work. When I push the defrost button the light comes on but the grid doesn't heat up. Ivew checked the grid with a multimeter and it's fine. The fuse is good and has been checked. I had the defrost relay tested and it's good too. I've checked for continuity before and after the fusable link under the hood by the battery and it's good too the way I see it is I have power to the defrost switch but the power isn't leaving the switch. I've tested the defrost wire the whole length of the car and don't get any voltage there either. Is it possible it could be the defrost/climate switch that is faulty?.

If you aren't getting 12V out of the defrost relay's black/white wire when requested (pin 1 at its socket), and you have 12V on pins 2 and 5 of the socket, then the relay is not closing because it isn't being grounded on pin 4 of the socket via the control panel switch (assumng the relay is good, otherwise the relay could be bad). So you could try grounding pin 4 and see if the relay closes, which it should. If it did then it is either the switch (manual unit) or the body control module (only if ATC unit) that is failing to do its job. If you have the manual unit see if when you ask for rear defrost whether the pin is grounded.  Let me know if you need further direction.
