Chrysler Repair: 94 Town & Country: New radio install blew fuse(s), radio circuits, stock radio

Question
My stock radio quit on me, so i bought a new Jensen deck. I was in a hurry, and upon removal of stock system i cut of the the connections, and ended up having to hardwire the new deck to the radio circuits....upon testing i neglected to tape the hot lead, and I'm thinking i shorted something out, the only problem is what...my digital gauges went blank and there is no power to the radio. All fuses check out, so i guess what i am asking is, Are there any in-line fuses that would affect the two...if not do you have any ideas??? NE ONE PLZZZ HELP!!!!

Answer
Hy Tyler,
I would check fuse 6 and fuse 9 to see if either might be cracked in the internal wire (even if not frankly blown). Those are the two primary current source hot wires to the radio. The main power arrives at the radio plug on the red/white wire, and the adjustable illumination wire is orange. Are you aware that there were no ground wires on the radio plug? The ground is provided by a strap that was attached to the rear of the chassis of the original radio. So if your new deck needs a ground (which I am sure that it does) that ground strap would be the one to provide the ground connection to the Jensen ground wire. Without the proper ground the radio won't work.
