Chrysler Repair: 1997 van: speed sensor location, speed sensors, sensor location

Question
ME AND MY HUSBAND CAN NOT FOUND THE SPEED SENOR ON THIS VAN CAN YOU PLEASE HELP

Answer
Hi Tammy,
There are two speed sensors on the transmission, one for the input turbine and the other for the output speed used to control the shifting and the speedo/odo. They look similarly. They are on the side of the trans that faces the front of the van, about mid-level.
The input is near the front of the trans, and the output is at the very rear of the trans, basically on either side of the vertical shifter rod. The output is so near the end of the trans that it may be hidden unless you look underneath some overlying items. It has a plug which you remove while gently lifting the locking tab. It simply unscrews. The new one screws in to about the same torque as a spark plug. It has two wires at the plug, dark blue/black and light green/white.
