Chrysler Repair: 1994 plymouth grand voyager: code 32/egr, plymouth grand voyager, vacuum line

Question
I have a grand voyager that keeps popping up a code 32 I believe that is is the
egr valve so I replaced it and it still is coming on after I drive down the freeway
for about 5 miles at about 65mph but in town it doesn't come on. Please help
thanks mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
For the valve to operate it requires mechanical function which you have dealt with by replacing it. It also needs a vacuum supply line, and operational solenoid/tranducer and an electrical connection to a solenoid in the transducer. I would inspect the vacuum line from the tranducer to the intake manifold to see that it isn't cracked or disconnected and similarly the vacuum line from the transducer to the egr valve. The wiring requires that the dark blue/white wire at the transducer has 12V on it when the ignition is in the run position, and that the gray/yellow wire is patent to pin 35 of the powertrain control computer. There are further tests to try but I would suspect the vacuum line is your problem. Let me know if you still can't solve it. Tell me which engine you have.
