Chrysler Repair: Radiator Fan Relay Control Circuit: T&C 98-P1491, radiator fan, relay control

Question
Roland, I've seen your answers on several other topics and I trust your advice.  I've got your typical P1491 code on my '98 Chrysler T and C.  I guess I can just replace the relay to see if that solves the problem, but the code tells me that it could be just bad wiring.  Can you give me some direction on what to look for short of just replacing the relay?  Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Preston,
The circuit is not complicated:
The relay is a solid state device mounted on the left frame rail near the radiator (follow the dark green wire from the fan motors to find it). The relay is activated by light green/dark blue wire between it and the pin 73  on the 41-80 plug. The black wire at the relay is a ground, and the gray wire is the 12V supply from fuse 24 in the power distribution center under the hood and it should be present all the time direct from the battery. These relays seem to be prone to failure. In fact you might check with the dealer to see if you can get one free under a recall.
