Answer
Hi Maria,
I would try to see if you have any fault codes that the engine controller has recognized. Use the ignition key:"On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, that remains"on", to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause, then repeat the process to assure an accurate count. Then write back with the count results. Please tell me whether you have the 3.3 or the 3.5L engine.
When you say that you put engine cleaner in the oil: did you try to operate the engine after the tune-up but before the cleaner was put in and if so did it backfire then? Or were the two steps done together? I wonder if it was the tune-up or the cleaner. Have you changed the oil that has the cleaner in it? That is helpful for me to know.
