Chrysler Repair: Convertible top moter, chrysler sebring, seat belts

Question
Where is my motor located on my 98 Chrysler sebring jxi convertible?

Answer
Hi Francisca,
The motor and pump assembly are in the front of the trunk, but I believe that the access is from the cabin. You have to remove the rear seat cushion (there is an attachment at each forward corner of the cushion so push the corner of the seat backwards and up to release the spring clip attaching it to the floor) and then the seat back (remove the seat belt assembly from the middle, pull the bottom of the seat forward and up until the seat bracket clears the studs to which the seat belts were attached, push upward on the seat back until the hooks at the top of the seat back clear the panel at the top to which it is attached, the remove the seat back). Install is the reverse giving attention to reconnection of the upper seat back to the three retaining brackets.
You should then be able to get into the area where the motor is, behind where the seat was installed.
