Chrysler Repair: Power windows fail on one side:1999T&C, disconnector, electrical contact

Question
I have this reoccurring problem with my 99 TC LIMITED, the passenger side power windows will no go up or down or swing out when the switch is activated. Sometimes the window will go down but not up until you open and close the door or just wait awhile. The motors will make no noise when they don't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ed

Answer
Hi Ed,
I have the '98 diagrams but so far I can't see an explanation for why this is happening unless it has to do with the driver's switch itself having some corroded/oxidized/dirty contacts inside of it. All the motors derive there powers from alternately PTC 8 or PTC 9 (up or down), so I can't believe that it is a wiring issue that effects only the right side as all the wires go thru the same local disconnector. So I would remove the control switch and clean the contacts with spray electrical contact cleaner through any of the cracks or holes in the switch into which you could insert a "straw"-type nozzle. It appears to just be the right side contacts that would cause it not to work on the right side, rather than some other part of the circuitry.
