Chrysler Repair: 98 Chrysler Cirrus Lxi, chrysler cirrus, crank sensor

Question
We have been having this problem for the past year and can't seem to find the answer. Our Cirrus will start sometimes and sometimes she won't. We have discovered that she must be plugged in night time, which gets expensive on the electrical bill, or she has to be kept in a garage overnight or else she will not start the following day. If it is humid or damp there are times she will struggle to start even while being kept in the garage, and then after finally starting it appears that she has trouble receiving her gas. After idling and giving her gas she is safe to travel. We don't even know where to start. One mechanic suggested the crank sensor. Could this be it? Or is it something else? And if so what? Also is this a common problem with the Cirrus? This is our first and last Chrysler. we are not happy with this car. Please help. thank you, Vanessa
