Chrysler Repair: 1997 Town & Country - no start/security issue, aftermarket sunroof, chrysler dealers

Question
QUESTION: Hi Roland, we've scanned the info re: security lock-out and key/remotes.  It sounds like our problem.  The question is, how do we get it to let us in?  We've tried a number of times the keys/remotes, various locks, one foot & spit etc.  We've towed it 3 times to dealers, it acted up once, in other words, between our house & the 2 dealers, it unlocked!!  If it wasn't for seeing the site last night, we would've thought we were going crazy.  Local Chrysler dealers are clueless, suggesting all manner of repairs.  Any idea on how we can unlock the security to start it?  Tired of the $120 charge for nothing. Thanks

ANSWER: tell me what the prob is in detail not what other have said or anything  but what u have seen and messed with.

QUESTION: when we turn the vehicle on, it starts for about 5 seconds and then stops.  The dash lights come on.  We've been able in the past to get the vehicle started by fiddling with the back lock with the key.  Recently, Chrysler put used the key in the driver side door to open it, and then started the vehicle fine, after 3 days of it sitting in our driveway locked out. When we try to start the van & it's locked out, none of the console appears (odometer, gas gauge, rpms), however when the van does run, the od,gas etc show up by just turning the key.
We have a secondary issue with a short in the heating, air conditioning/fan module.  An aftermarket sunroof is wired into this system, and when we have the fan on high (short diagnosed by mechanic), it interferes with the sunroof.  This system is disconnected now, however we weren't sure if the short was also affecting the doors, however the lock out happened even once the other system was disconnected.  The mechanics are not reading any codes on the lock out issue.  When we first got the van, the battery would die occasionally, requiring a jump.  We've changed the battery, but are having increasing problems with the lock out issue.  Should this not be a recall issue, as being stranded in extremely hot weather, to me, is a safety issue. Thanks
ANSWER: what do u mean by locked out???   do u mean that u cant get into the van  or the key wont turn in the ign or it wont start at all??  or is the lockout what u call starts for 5 seconds then shuts off. And no it would not be a recall there is no danger of the car doing something to cause an accident to your or others.

QUESTION: the van starts for about 5 seconds then shuts off, we can get into the van, but the engine will not stay running

Answer
so its an alarm issue then. With out looking into the BCM to see what tripped the alarm  or if it even has an alarm and the bcm thinks it does and tells the pcm that u cant start because it does not see the alarm disarm  which it may not even have to start with.  HUmm  give me the last 8 of your vin so i can see on chryslers computer if it came with factory alarm or not.
