Chrysler Repair: chrysler town and country touring van 2005, sway bar links, chrysler town and country

Question
My chrysler has 49000 miles on it.  At about 43,000 or less it started making a bumping noise. I was out of warranty so I took it to my own mechanic who couldn't find the problem.  just spent $1600+ on struts, bushings sway bar links etc.  I think at 43000 miles when this initially started the car should hold up better than that.  Also had to replace tires (probably due to front end) door locks quit working and automatic passenger doors both sides have had repair.  I think I have a lemon but just curious if you have had any other feedback on this year model with regard to these problems.  FYI had to replace brakes at about 16,000 miles (not covered) and again at 38,000 miles and now at 49,000 appears to be a problem again.  Thanks for any help/suggestions you can offer.

Answer
Hi Peggy,
I have not received similar reports to yours as yet, but then my experiential base is quite narrow. May I suggest that you go to the library and check April issue of Consumer Reports or the most recent annual soft-backed book by that organization wherein the frequency of repair records are summarized by system (engine/transmission/suspension/brakes, etc.), make, model and model year to see if there is a clear common problem with your version? It is based upon survery feedback received from their reader/owners.
The door locks/security systems seem to be a regular issue with owners reporting being unable to get the engine to run for more than a few seconds due to a falsely alarmed situation. As for the front end, so far nothing noteworthy has been brought to my attention.
If the CU repair stats look bad then availing yourself of the provisions of the lemon law might be a remedy. Unfortunately I am not too familiar with that except I seem to recall that it is related to inability to get repairs resulting in effect to unusability of the vehicle.
