Chrysler Repair: 1993 Concorde: no windows, heater blower, air bag, fuse one, blower air

Question
My power windows stopped working, ABS light and air bag light stays on all the time, heater and air conditioning have no power. We have checked fuses and they seem to be okay. What could be the problem? This all occured at the same time.

Answer
Hi Tam
One of the "master fuses" in the box in the engine compartment to the rear of the battery is probably blown or fatigue cracked. It is fuse J and of 40 ampere capacity.
It feeds one section of the ignition switch which when "on" feeds 4 smaller fuses under the dash that each feed the items that you mention. So check that fuse. One side of its socket will have 12V on it, the other side feeds the ignition switch. If you want to check that there isn't a short that caused the fuse to fail just measure the resistance from that "cold" side of the fuse socket to the -post of the battery to show at least 1 ohm when you have the ignition switch 'on'. If it shows short (near 0 ohms) then we'll have to figure out why.
