Chrysler Repair: 2001 Town & Country: A/C clutch wont engage, fuel injection cleaner, tune up 3

Question
QUESTION: My check engine light came on call was riding I switch gas  Octane added 1 bottle o fuel injection cleaner everything was fine for about a week I notice when starting vechile in the am it struggle alittle like it was chocking
gave it a little gas it was fine the other morning i started the car its was shaking like crazy engine light came on brake, and alt light came on i was able to drive  alittle then stop what to you think i had a recent tune up 3 weeks prior to this
ANSWER: Hi David,
If the check engine light came on it means that the engine computer has recognized a problem, which has a code number and that is stored in the memory of the computer. You can maybe get a free readout of the memory to find out what the number is at an Autozone parts store. If you get the number let me know what it is and we can go from there. But tell me which size engine is in you van.
Also you could go back to the place that did the tune up, tell them it has only been 3 weeks and maybe there is something that they forgot to connect or something that they did to cause the problem. Ask them to readout the memory for the fault code and then press them to do the right thing if they caused the problem and fix it for free if that is the case.
If they want to charge you more, just get the number and then write me back before paying any big amount. Ask them for the number,  what is wrong, what they want to do, how much $, and then tell me and we will look into the repair manuals to see if what they are saying makes sense or not.

QUESTION: Hi Roland finally my van is running good the throttle sensor was change computer & Wire harness. While driving
after the repair one evening I notice my front lights on however the rear one were not and that the blower was working however the Air condition clutch was not going on
I called the dealer to ask if this problem was related to the work that was done they said no. So I look under the hood check the fuses there was no resistor for the light  I took care of that myself but I am concern that If I take my car back for the air I going to get nailed Is there some thing I can Check  I know it has plenty of Freon

Answer
Hi David,
The compressor clutch is powered by the A/C clutch relay located in the power box under the hood. The power source for the clutch that the relay controls comes from fuse 11 in that same box, so check it. The power to operate the relay is provided by a fuse-like device called a PTC (positive temperature coefficient) located in the fuse box under the dash. Specifically you will find a row of 12 PTC's just below the 4 big plugs, and the PTC that you need to check is PTC number 1. If both those fuses are OK, then either the relay is not good, or the A/C clutch is not good, or you are low on freon, or the off/on switch in the control panel is not good, or the digital data connection is not good between the control panel and the engine controller (but that is not very likely). So I would start with the fuse checks and then maybe find another relay in the box that has the same part number and is not used to run the engine and try switching it with the A/C clutch relay to see if that might be the reason. After that, I would check the freon level again, and then do the clutch itself check and the wiring checks as the last resort.

PS I am working with a '98 manual which I believe should apply to your 2001 but I can't be sure.
