Chrysler Repair: Flashing dash, radio, head lights, chrysler sebring jxi, chrysler sebring

Question
My dash, radio, & head lights keeps flashing/pulsing.  Also my "battery" icon light keeps coming on intermittently on my 96 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible.

Answer
Hi Lisa,
All those pulsings/flashings/lightings up intermittently means the voltage on the system is varying. It could be simply that one of the battery cable clamps is loose at the battery. Or it could be that there is a short circuit that is allowing battery current to flow directly back to the battery without being used, which will also drain the battery if it is intermittent. Another possibility is that the alternator is becoming flakey and needs to be replaced.
So if you are familiar with getting to the battery you could do the first and also check around for the second idea. The third one needs a tester. You might get free alternator check at an Autozone store.
The battery is a bit buried and so you need to remove the remote negative wire from the driver's side shock tower, turn the steering wheel full left, and then remove 4 plastic screws 1/4 turn to remove the battery shield, remove the battery blanket hearer cord if so-equipped, then check to make sure that both clamps are tight by first removing the - clamp, then it it safe to tighten the nut on the + clamp, then put the -clamp back and tighten its nut. If both the clamps were tight, then investigate to see if you find any sign of wires that may be overheated such a melted insulation, and in the absence of that get a test of the alternator.
