-----Question-----
I have a 1994 Dodge Shadow ES 2-Dr, with 105,000 miles. Lately, when I turn the headlights on the instrument panel (gauges, speedometer, and fog lights) go dead, but headlight come on. If I turn just the heater on it does the same thing, but will not blow any air. What is the problem? How can I begin to find it? I have already checked all fuses. Some days it is normal and other days it has this problem. A friend said that it could be a body computer. Does mine have one? Please help... Justin

PS: The power door locks don't work and has a new fuse...

I would check the grounds, sounds like a loose or green ground.I believe there is one pretty close to the battery on the fender also check the ones at bottom of the dash where it bolts to the sides of the car.

Answer
I would still look at grounds. If you have a test light see if that fuse has voltage.Your car does not have a body controller.I'm not sure if in 94 we still used fuseable links. If so they would be exposed on the lt side of the engine compartment towards the hood hinge.Orange wires, pull on them,if thier bad they will pull apart. Then you will have to find the reason why they burned.
