Chrysler Repair: Van engine: timing belt or timing chain?, kuldip, moderate price

I have 99 caravan and want to replace timing belt or chain (I don"t know what I have).Van has 120k on it.

Hi Kuldip.
Without knowing which engine I can't say; but the 2.4 and 3.0 have a belt, while the 3.3 and 3.8 have a chain (which probably lasts for the life of the engine). The best source of how to do it at a moderate price would be the Haynes manual #30011 which includes your '99 model. If you can't find that easily let me know and I can copy a few pages for you by xerox and postal mail them to you.
