Chrysler Repair: 1995 Lebaron convert quarter window repair, salvage yard, quarter window

Hello Roland,
i removed the whole sharkfin window unit. which wasnt as bad as i thought it would be,but the cables that feed into the window motor have come off of their little pulleys. they are now horribly bent and really frayed. can these cables be ordered anywhere? Or would i be better off replacing the whole window unit? It doesnt look like it would be very much fun trying to replace those cables.the guy i just bought this car from knows a salvage yard that has 3 gtc's there.i was thinking it would be easier to just replace whole unit but have no idea yet what they would charge for the unit. and if i can get get the cables cheap ...well i have the time ...thanks

Hi Steve,
The official name is the "quarter window". I have a LeBaron coupe which has a fixed window in that spot so I haven't followed the foibles of those who own the convert. May I suggest that you go to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/thechryslerlebaronclub/messages
and then search for the topic "quarter window". I know there is an aftermarket tape kit for doing the repair yourself and that seems to work. But see if the archive gives you enough info and if not join the group and post your question.
There are about 1000+ convert owners in the group and this is a widely shared repair issue.
